This week marks the 6-month anniversary of the day I launched Man Vs. I feel like I swallowed both the red and blue pills in one big gulp. Before we get started, let me make something very clear. As with any post I do, this will be based completely on my own experience and perspective.
We've got a movie going in front of the cameras later in the year, so my thoughts are beginning to turn towards casting. Auditions aren't my favourite part of the film business. There's a built-in imbalance to the process, and it's easy for either side to lose sight of what the experience is like for the other party in the room. For a tired producer or casting agent who has already lived and re-lived the same 12 minutes with very minor alterations over and over again since the crack of dawn, the process can be exhausting and frustrating.
